Happy New Year

Happy New Year! I hope you have a lovely time bringing it in, I’ll be sat watching Supernatural, with a take away and a G&T or two!

I’m sure you may have noticed that the header has changed and along with it the name of my blog. I’ve been wanting to change the name for a while and was struggling to come up with something that I loved and which was still very much me. I settled on Beth Tinkerbell, it’s the name I use on pretty much all of my social media and is very me!

I’m not going to be making any big promises for 2014, because every year that I make resolutions I fail, so why set myself up for failure? I will be continuing to post YouTube videos, and these will be uploaded on a Tuesday so that we can have #TinkTuesday they won’t be every Tuesday, but you can expect one today (hopefully! I’m writing this on Monday and have yet to start editing it) which is the What I got for Christmas video.

I do want to improve the photos I post on here, so I guess that means getting to know how my camera works so that I can get the best from it. I’m definitely not promising miracles, the likely hood is that I forget I want to improve my skills.

I’m looking forward to meeting more bloggers that I have yet to meet, along with seeing the lovely bloggers who i’ve met in the last 18 months.

Other than that I’m just looking forward to an exciting new year and seeing what it brings for me!

What’s in my Stocking?

I thought that I would share with you what I got in my Christmas stocking. It is tradition that me and my sister open them together, this year we were up at 4 opening them! I am like a big kid at Christmas and will wake up in the early hours of the morning with excitement ready to open my stocking.

I will also be sharing some of my favourite presents over on YouTube from both my birthday and Christmas. I’m really nosy and can not wait to see what other people got for Christmas so hopefully you’ll love to see what I’ve got.

On to the stocking!

Santa has been!

All the goodies!

I really enjoyed my stocking this year, usually there’s stuff that I won’t use because it’s something my sister will like and my mum likes us to have matching stockings.

Gem Spa – Purifying Jade Body Butter | Disney – Minnie Mouse Shower Cap | Charles Worthington – Brilliant Shine Shampoo | Morrisons – Luxury Facial Flannel

Academy of Colour – 3D Manicure Pearl Beads | Opia – 3 pack of Hair slides | Disney Happy Days 2014 Diary

I also got quite a bit of chocolate in my stocking!

Do you get a stocking? What did you get in yours?

My Sale Picks

I’ve had a quick browse through some of the sales that are available at the moment, and i’m going to share with you some of the products which will most likely be hitting my basket when I go sales shopping!

I think we’ll start with skincare, I’ve got into my skincare during 2013 so a lot of my favourites list features skincare products. However, I am choosing just 3 of my picks to share with you.

Sales Picks

Ole Henriksen – Firm Action Mask | Occo Markocija – Wild Meadow Body Treatment Mask | Lulu’s – Derm Warfare Night Serum

I’ve wanted to try Ole Henriksen for a while, and I think a face mask is probably the best way to go because it’s something I treat myself to and I have a number on rotation so I won’t use it up super quick and need to replace it. The Occo Markocija body mask is something I haven’t really seen, and so I think it would be interesting to try out. I really need to add a serum to my skincare routine, and this one jumped out at me as I was searching through all of the products, and it is supposed to help keep your skin hydrated.

Next we’re moving on to bath time and relaxing! I love having a bath, and I usually use Lush products because I love them, however it’s nice to change things up a little.

Sales Picks1

Aromatherapy Associates – Relax Light Bath and Shower Oil | This Works – Beauty Ball Sleep Balm | Aromatherapy Associates – Essential Bath and Shower Oils

I’ve heard lots of good things about Aromatherapy Associates but I’ve never tried anything from them, I think the Relax oil would be a great one for when you’re wanting to have that me time and just enjoy yourself in the bath. I find it quite difficult to switch off at night, I’m always checking my phone for tweets and the like, I do wonder if the Sleep Balm would work to help me get off to sleep and the only way to find out is to try it! Another product from Aromatherapy Associates this set of 3 oils would be the ideal way to try out some of their oils without committing yourself to a larger bottle, you can see which you like best.

Now we’re onto hair, as you may know at the beginning of October I had my long hair chopped off, I was planning on growing it long again, now that all the split ends and bleached hair had gone, however I love it short and so I’m planning on keeping it that way. I’m still on the hunt for products which will help keep my hair looking ace.

Sales Picks2

Prive – Shining Weightless Amplifier | Tangle Teezer – Compact Styler | Sexy Hair – Big Root Pump Plus Humidity Resistant Spray

The Prive and the Sexy Hair products are both designed to add volume to your hair, something which mine is severely lacking, and I’ve been on the hunt to find something which will give me that oomph and make my hair look fabulous. I’ve never had hair which is particularly knotty but i’ve been admiring the Tangle Teezers for a while now and I think they’ll be much better to use when my hair is wet rather than the hairbrush I have at the moment.

Last but not least I bring to you my makeup picks from the sales so far, as I write this I’ve yet to see what Santa has brought me, but I know what i’ll be hoping to pick up alongside the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette!

Sales Picks3

Urban Decay – Vice 2 Palette | The Balm – Nude ‘Tude Eyeshadow Palette Naughty | Real Techniques – Sam’s Picks Collection

Do I really need more eyeshadow palettes? The answer is no, but I love the look of both of these Vice 2 features a number of bright colours but they are still wearable, I’ve seen Georgina create some wonderful looks on her instagram. Nude ‘Tude is obviously another nude palette but the packaging is just so gorgeous and is all I need to make me want it in my collection. If I’m going to get 2 more eyeshadow palettes then I definitely need some more makeup brushes, Sam’s Picks contains some of my favourite Real Techniques brushes and having extras will just be super handy, and within this collection their is also an exclusive brush, therefore I must have it!

I haven’t shopped around to find these at their cheapest prices, so that’s something you may want to do if you’ve spotted something which you fancy popping in your basket.

What are you planning on picking up in the sales?

#bbSecretSanta - What I got

I signed up for the #bbsecretsanta and was super excited to find out who I was paired up with. I was paired up with Nadja from Throw Me Something Beautiful.

On Monday I came home to a parcel and couldn't wait to see what was inside it. I got a lovely heart decoration from Next which jingles, I now have it hung on the door to my bookcase.

There was also a Barry M nail varnish in the shade Rose Quartz Glitter, it is perfect for Christmas, and I can't wait to wear it. Next up we have Work The Colour Eyeshadow Pencil by Collection in the shade Vanilla Sky. I can see this becoming an everyday essential, it'll be perfect for highlighting the inner corner of my eye. I also received a Seventeen eyeshadow in Rose Quartz, I'm looking forward to using this in a makeup look at the weekend.

Last but not least we have the Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick in the shade Bashful. It's a pale pink which I'll be able to wear on a daily basis.

Thank you so much Nadja, I love everything and I'm looking forward to putting it all together in a makeup look.

Labels are that pesky thing created to describe something/someone. Society puts a lot of weight into these labels that are created.

Bloggers are labelled due to the content they post. Some bloggers can spend hours deliberating whether they should post something they've written or if they should talk about something that is important too them, just because it doesn't fit the label they have as a blogger. A beauty blogger might worry about posting something fashion related.

Straight size and plus size are labels that have been created, do we really need to separate clothing like that? People don't deserve to be labelled by their size but it happens constantly. The word fat has had to be reclaimed, and everyone has their own definition as to what fat is. I don't ever think of myself as being fat or plus sized, but if I'm asked to label myself or I'm in a situation where I need to label myself then I'll choose fat, because I'm secure in saying that.

I really dislike the pressure to label yourself, and the way that if you choose not to label yourself then someone else will. Just yesterday the media placed labels on Tom Daley, he didn't label himself. Some will tell you he's gay, while others will be telling you he's bisexual, does it really matter? No it doesn't.

I'm sure some psychologist or sociologist somewhere will say that people feel more secure when they have labels, well I'm going to hold my hands up and say I don't. I hate having labels placed upon me, it makes me feel as though I should conform and fit the mould for that label but it isn't my responsability to do so. I should be able to carry on doing what I want for me and because it makes me happy, not so that I fit a label given to me by society.

A Letter to my Body Take 2

Hello Body, again!

My mind has decided that in our previous letter we didn't do you justice, and you deserve so much more. You've acted as a shield to protect the ones you love, yet you've broken bones by doing very little. I'm sure you remember the time in Reception when you broke both bones in your left wrist,  I guess it serves you right for running up a hill after you'd been told not too! That break required two trips to theatre so it could be manipulated into mending corrctly. There's also the time you broke your humerus whe you fell off a horse, to be fair you did mange to fall so that our head wouldn't hit a rock. We never thanked you for that did we? Thank you, you do so much for us and we've never realised.

You always carry on when my mind doesn't want you too. Lets be honest if it was up to my mind we would have spent a large portion of today curled up crying! You always have the strength to carry on, even when my mind says no and no longer wants to be here.

My mind is so greatful for all the things that you do, so many things you do without a thank you. My mind never gives you a second glance but you do what you do, well that changes now. My mind needs to look after you more, and give you what you need, even if that means breaking a value it has held tight for over 10 years.

You've put up with so much from my mind, all the times it wanted you to lose weight, but you stood firm and said no this how I'm meant to be. You even have the strength to carry more weight if you need too. My mind hates you for the hirsutism caused by PCOS, but it isn't your fault, you didn't choose the hormone levels.  My mind forgets that the PCOS puts you under a lot of stress,  just like the IBS is beginning to do so.

My mind wants to say thank you to you.

A Letter to my Body

Dear Body,

I really don't have anything to complain about, in almost 22 years you've done a lot for me, even if we've had a few breakages along the way.

If  anything my mind has done the most damage to you, but you always pick yourself back up and carry on. It has spent a lot of time hating you and wanting to make you change,  but you're beginning to harmonise.

You know that being fat isn't a bad thing, and your body looks pretty awesome! You've got a cute little back dimple, and an amazing pair of boobs. You don't need to change yourself for anyone, and someday someone will come along who loves you as much as I fo.

Christmas Giveaway

I am a big lover of Christmas and so I wanted to give one of you the chance to have an extra gift this Christmas! I did write this post up with photos and then my laptop died, so I'm now typing this up the day before it goes live in the hope that I can rustle something together.

I have already wrapped the gifts up ready to be posted out when this giveaway is over, so fingers crossed that by the time I've finished writing this I've managed to find them somewhere in cloud storage online. Otherwise I'm going to have to use images from Google/websites where I bought them from, sorry! Though if you saw the photos for my Secret Santa giveaway, then imagine these ones to be in the same style.

First up, we have a Paul & Joe compact and blusher in the shade Re-belle. I would love to find this under my Christmas tree this year, and if it isn't there then I may just have to pick it up in the sales. I have chosen the shade Re-belle to give away because it looks like a shade that will suit all skin tones.

Next up we have the Lord & Berry Scuba mascara, unfortunately since buying it for the giveaway I have seen a few reviews which aren't great. I've got my fingers crossed that maybe they were a dodgy batch in the Beauty Box the came in rather than the mascara as a whole.

I have also included two Yankee Candle wax tarts in lovely Christmas scents we have Christmas Cookie and Cinnamon Stick. I know I love having a Christmas candle lit while wrapping my presents.

There will also be a mystery gift included, because we all love an element of surprise when we're opening our gifts.

Right, i guess we should be moving on to the rules, which are the boring part but important.

1. You must be following my on Bloglovin' or GFC
2. You must leave your email address, so that I can contact you if you win.
3. The giveaway is open to those in the UK and Ireland.
4. Any entries from comping accounts will be deleted.
5. Any fake entries will be deleted.
6. The giveaway will run from 30th November 2013 to 14th December 3013.

Good luck!

The Sound Bath

I was invited to the Lush Spa in Leeds to experience one of their treatments in full. You may remember that in July I went to the Lush Spa to celebrate their 4th birthday and I got to have a taster of 2 treatments and one of those was The Sound Bath. When I was given the chance to have the full Sound Bath treatment I just couldn't say no.

The 4th of November saw me hopping on the train to Leeds. After a stressful morning with my car not starting, and then my train being delayed I made it to Lush and was only about 5 minutes late.

I was introduced to Hannah who was my therapist and she took me down to the Spa, where I was offered a drink while I filled out a consultation form on an Ipad. It was quick and easy to do, so only took a few moments before Hannah could tell me about the treatment. I was talked through what the treatment consisted and shown the ear candles they use and the tuning forks.

You start the treatment with a box which contains a chocolate mushroom and an apple drink, it looks very much like something you would find if you fell down the rabbit hole in Alice in Wonderland.

I was then taken through to the treatment room, where I was asked to remove my shoes, and advised to take my jumper off before getting on the bed. When you get on the bed there's a lovely blanket to get under and it does feel like getting into bed!

The Sound Bath starts of with a facial using hot stones, before moving on to a head massage and the ear candles. I loved hearing the candles crackling and it's impossible for any of the candle to get into your ear. Tuning forks are then used, and placed on the body and you can feel the vibrating which I found very relaxing. The treatment ends with another facial using cold stones.

Hannah left me to come round by myself and told me to meet her back in the spa kitchen. When I went through to the Kitchen Hannah made me a homemade lemonade right in front of me. Hannah left me to enjoy my drink and with the visitors book, she also let me know that I was free to use the bathroom. I did make a trip to the bathroom so that I coukd refresh my makeup, and the bathroom had many Lush products in to use. I think it's great that they have a few skincare and makeup products in their bathroom so that you can freshen up, even if you don't take your own makeup.

I really enjoyed my treatment at the Lush Spa. When I came out of the treatment I felt as though i'd had a great nights sleep, and that evening I slept like a baby!

The Sound Bath treatment would cost you £65 for an hour long treatment. I think it would definitely be money well spent, and would also make a perfect gift. I'm thinking i'll purchase my mum a voucher for the Spa as part of her birthday present, and I can't wait to visit again!

I also have an Elf mineral eyeshadow in the shade Wild, I haven’t yet tried an Elf mineral eyeshadow but i’ve heard nothing but good things!

I absolutely love the look of this Elf palette, I always find that having one with such a great range of colours is handy because it usually has that one colour you never knew you needed, until you needed it. If you want to experiment with your makeup, or love creating makeup looks then this palette will give you the chance to play around!

Spending Ban – Update 2

Spending Ban Button

I went shopping only a couple of days after my last update, and I bought a few more Christmas presents. I did get a couple of makeup products but I picked them up as free items in the 3 for 2 that both Boots and Superdrug are offering at the moment. I don’t think they really count do they?

I bought a blouse while in Primark which was in the sale for £5 and great for work, and I also picked up a necklace in H&M for £3.99 to go with the blouse.

I am also thinking that I may do a blog sale with some of my clothes that I don’t wear, and maybe for a few beauty products that I won’t use.

Would you like to see a blog sale?

Spending Ban – Update 1

Spending Ban Button

I’ve managed to complete week 1 of my spending ban, I wasn’t paid until Thursday and the end of the month always requires very little spending! If you follow me on twitter you will know that I went to #BloggersHalloween party organised by Becky and we went shopping yesterday with Alyssia.

I was well behaved while shopping and bought plenty of Christmas presents which I will be showing you in a YouTube video soon. I took advantage of the Boots 3 for 2 offer which is a fantastic way to pick up gifts.

As part of my spending ban I’m not supposed to be buying clothes, but as you know I did say I could pick up an outfit for my Confirmation. Well I found a lovely top in Primark which I picked up and I’m hoping to wear if I can find some nice trousers to go with it. I did also pick up one of their £5 dresses to be worn with leggings for work.

We also went into Lush where I picked up a couple of bath ballistics and a bubble bar, which I just couldn’t resist. The Christmas products all look so beautiful and I wanted them all but I managed to resist and only pick up 3 products.

This week I have spent my £12.95 so I won’t be allowed to treat myself to anything else for the rest of the month. It has been a very expensive week for me because I went up to Scotland for a night to visit my Grandad before going down to Aldershot for the #BloggersHalloween party.

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!

Spending Ban

Spending Ban Button

Georgina from Makeup Pixi3 posted today about doing a spending ban so that she can save up for a DSLR that she has been wanting. She said she would love it if others would join her in having a spending ban whether they have a target in mind or just want to be on a ban for a set amount of time.

I’ve decided to join her and I’m going to save up £400 for a holiday, my lovely friend Hannah is in Bologna and I would love to be able to go out and visit her before she comes back home. I’d like to be able to go out and see her in March/April so hopefully I can have saved up enough by then otherwise I’ll try and go on to save a little extra so that I can to see my sister in Australia when she moves out there next year. My laptop also seems to be on its last legs yet again, but I only bought it a few months ago so I’m going to try and return it to store and see if they can fix it for me.

I am obviously going to have some rules for this challenge,
1, I can’t buy any products unless I’ve run out and don’t have something similar.
2, I can buy gifts for other people, which is an essential with Christmas coming up!
3, I can buy myself a beauty advent calendar.
4, I can buy any books required for book club.
5, I can buy an outfit for my Confirmation at the end of November.
6, I am allowed to subscribe to a beauty box or spend the equivalent (£12.95) on beauty products.
7, I can buy products/props which are essential for my YouTube videos.
8, I’ll give you updates as to how i’m getting on, along with anything that I’m lusting after.

I’m hoping that this spending ban will give me the opportunity to play with a lot more of my beauty products that I haven’t touched in ages, and I can rediscover them!

Will you be starting a spending ban any time soon?

Body Positivity | #BodyConfidenceWeek

Being happy with your body isn't something that you can just switch on or off, if only it was that easy! Since I've started blogging I've become much more confident not necessarily in my body itself but in the clothes I wear, some of the clothes I wear now are clothes that I wouldn't have worn 2 years ago, at least not without some amendments. It was only earlier this year that I got my legs out without wearing tights as part of Flash the Flesh, the dress I wore is one that 2 years ago I would have paired with jeans or a pair of leggings, now I'm happy to wear it and bare my legs.

I always find that one of the things you have to remember most when being so brave in pubic is not to take comments to heart, the people that make them don't know you and are probably the kind of people you don't want to know if they are going to make such remarks to strangers! However not taking comments to heart is one of the hardest things, I know I dwell on them and then I begin to believe them, so I'll have days where I'd rather hide in jeans and a t-shirt. I luckily have some of the best friends who won't let me spend too much time dwelling on comments that strangers make, and since blogging I feel I've developed a thicker skin but it's still as hurtful when someone I know makes a comment. I don't think it ever stops hurting when people you know make comments, and it's especially hard when it's your closest friends or family. The comments I get tend to be about the clothes I'm wearing rather than about me personally, which some people might take as a positive.

I have days where the first outfit I put on looks great, and I feel great, but I also have days where I can be constantly swapping and changing outfits in the hope of feeling great, and it always seems to be those days when someone makes a comment.

BeauCoo Logo

I've since found a great place to find inspiration from, and that's BeauCoo* a great website which allows people like me and you to upload our outfits. The aspect I love most is that you can enter your measurements, which are kept hidden but you can then choose to search for outfits that people with similar measurements to you are wearing. I love this feature because it allows me to see outfits that I love but would never have worn myself because I didn't think it would suit me. I think we all fall into the trap of wearing the clothes that we are used to and we might not branch out as far as we could do but now I have somewhere to go and look to see if a style I like may look good on me.

I mainly use BeauCoo for looking at what other people are wearing, however if you create an account you can upload your own outfits to share with other people what you are wearing, and what looks great on you. I think I'm going to start sharing my outfits more because someone else may see them and find the inspiration to try on something a little different even if it's only in the shop changing rooms! When you spot an outfit you like on BeauCoo you can choose to like it or mark it as something you want, when you then visit your profile page it shows you the outfits you've liked, and the outfits you want.

Outfits I like and wantBeauCoo

Setting up an account is really easy, you can download the app for Android and Iphone, which means taking and uploading outfits on the go couldn't be easier. You can also sign up for an account on the website, which you can't currently upload outfits from but it will hopefully be introduced in the future and once it is I'm sure I'll backdate a lot of my blog outfits! When setting up my account I didn't encounter any difficulty it was really straight forward only took a few minutes, the difficult part is getting your measurements, so I'd advise making note of those beforehand.  Once you have got your account set up and want to start looking at outfits you can choose to view by fit match which will allow you to see outfits from people with similar measurements to you, or you can turn fit match off to see outfits from people of all sizes. You can also choose to view outfits from friends where you can see the outfits from the people you are following, or you can choose to view everyone which allows you to see outfits from everyone.

If you decide you do want to add an outfit, again it is really simple and straight forward. You choose the photo you wish to upload, you then choose whether it’s a top, bottoms, or dress, before adding the brand and store. You can also choose to add a description about the item you are adding. I’ve added a photo of my tea dress, and mentioned in the description that it runs small, so that people know it may be better for them to size up or order both sizes to try.

BeauCoo have also introduce the #BoPo which if you visit the feed on twitter will allow you to see tweets about body positivity, and some of those tweets may link you to articles or blog posts which are about body positivity.

You can find me on BeauCoo here.

Will you be looking to BeauCoo for outfit inspiration?

Sleek Review

I was only introduced to Sleek in the summer, I had seen the brand and products floating about on some of the blogs I read but I’d never tried them for myself, or even swatched them in store! During the summer I took the plunge and picked up a trio of their blushers and Face Form.

You may remember me sharing that i’d bought the blusher with you, it was in the haul of products I bought from my day in Leeds in July, however it is now time to bring you my thoughts on it! I’ve had plenty of use out of the blusher and Face Form over the past couple of months.

I’ll start with the blusher, I picked up Blush By 3 in the shade Lace which has more peach/orange toned blushers which were ideal to use throughout the summer.

I like the packaging, it is eye catching and yet still quite simple.

The compact of the blusher is very simple in black plastic with the Sleek logo. When you turn the packaging over you will also find a list of ingredients along with the name of the palette, and individual names of the blushers.

When you open up the compact you will find 3 blushers inside, along with a large mirror. I find the blushers great for building up colour, however the one on the right Crochet needs a light hand as it is very pigmented. The blusher in the middle Guipure has a light shimmer running through it, and is a lovely rose pink colour which is perfect for the summer. Chantilly on the left is a peach blusher and is the one I have loved most, I like to build up the colour on my cheeks and then I will add Guipure over the top to add a little shimmer.

Next we are moving onto Face Form in shade Fair which is Sleeks contour kit and blusher palette. I bought this because I wanted to give contouring a go, but also because I wanted the Sleek Rose Gold blusher and combining the two seemed ideal.

Again the packaging is still simple but eye catching, your eyes are drawn to it on the shelf but it isn’t garish packaging which will make you think twice about purchasing.

Again the packaging of the compact is the same as that for the blusher and has the Sleek logo, on the back of this palette it lists the ingredients for all three different products.

Face Form contains a bronzer, highlighter, and blusher. The bronzer is very pale in colour which makes it ideal for those of us with fair skin, you can keep it light or build it up for a stronger colour. I find the highlighter to be very easy to use, I only use a very small amount across the tops of my cheeks and I can see a lovely light reflecting shimmer. We then move onto the Rose Gold blusher, I prefer this to the Guipure blusher in the Blush By  palette, simply because it is a darker pink. I find that the shimmer running through them both is very similar, and just helps to give a glowing complexion rather than a cheek that looks like a disco ball!

Both the Blush By 3 and Face Form palettes are £9.99, I bought both of mine from Superdrug but they are also available on the Sleek website.

Have you tried either of these products from Sleek, which other products would you recommend?

Ps. Take a look to see who won my MUA giveaway.

hair today, gone tomorrow

As some of you may know I went and got my hair cut on Friday.

2013-10-04 11.27.08I left my house looking like this!

2013-10-04 14.58.24
and came back looking like this!

I finally plucked up the courage to go and get my hair chopped off, my long hair had been irritating me for a while. I was struggle to find way of styling it, and a lot of it was just dead and full of split ends because I died the underneath pink last summer.

I am really loving my new hair so far, it’s so easy to style and I feel fabulous with it!

Would you ever go for such a drastic change in hair style?

Ps. Today is Magnificent 7th so check out the ladies below, I’m not taking part as I don’t own anything to fit the theme, and don’t forget you can still enter my MUA giveaway.

MUA Review and Giveaway

I thought I’d share with you a few pieces from my summer MUA haul, and you could win them all!

I’ll start up with the FASHIONISTA Style Brows palette, I picked this up because I was getting a little bored with my Benefit Browzings palette, and i’d heard great things about this one. One thing I love about this palette is that there are 3 different shades of powder which means that it’s pretty much suitable for everyone, and there’s also a clear wax for setting your brows. I just use the darkest shade, but I could easily share it with my mum and sister when we’re away because they would use the other 2 shades. The little pair of tweezers and the brush that come in the palette are handy for when you’re on the go as there’s no need to take up extra bringing full sized. I haven’t used the tweezers in the set but I can say that the brush isn’t too bad and would be ideal for touch ups.

Next up I have the FASHIONISTA Double Take lipstick in the shade Raspberry which is a lovely hot pink that looks great layered up with Out There plumping lipgloss in Pin Up Pink. I’ve worn them both layered together and separately, they’re very similar in colour which make them great for pairing together. I’m really impressed with the lipstick as it does have great staying power, it’s not one that you need to think about touching up all the time, though it does transfer quite easily. Pin Up Pink isn’t the only lipgloss I bought, I also picked up Sienna which is a coral colour, and although it is seen as a summer colour I think it can be worn throughout autumn.

Style It Saturday

It’s that time of the month again, this month I was asked to choose the theme for the challenge and I chose Voluptuous Vixen. In my mind it’s when you wear an outfit that’s a little vampy and dramatic but makes you feel fabulous!

Style It Saturday is a celebration of individuality which allows bloggers involved to showcase their own unique style. Each month there is a theme which we interpret to suit our styles and shapes, in order to share ideas and put our own imaginations to the test!

On with the photos!

Blouse – Sorrento Clothing
Leggings – Pink Clove
Belt – Primark
Shoes – New Look (old)

I spotted this blouse when we were at Plus North and fell in love, you can see a picture of me with it over on Emily’s blog. As soon as I saw it I knew I had to have it, and that it would look perfect with a pair of wet look leggings.

I ordered the blouse in a 22 because I wanted to ensure that I wouldn’t encounter any gaping across the boobs, and I don’t when it’s buttoned up. For this outfit I chose to leave it unbuttoned so that by bra could be seen a little, which I wouldn’t do when out and about. I find the blouse to be true to size, it fits my boobs perfectly but is loose everywhere else, which is what I would expect because I sized up for my boobs. The blouse is chiffon which makes it ideal to be worn throughout the year, un summer it can be worn on it’s own and during winter you can layer it up.

On my nails I’m wearing OPI – Vampsterdam, and Barry M Gelly – Blood Orange.

I would also recommend the leggings from Pink Clove, they’re a bargain at £10 and are true to size. I bought a size 20 but I do wish I’d sized up just so that they’d be a little higher waisted but it’s not a big problem and just me being fussy.

I didn’t mention it earlier but the blouse features this gorgeous floral lace panel in the back,

What would your go to outfit be for today’s theme?
